M.D. Anderson Celebrates
M.D. Anderson notables and friends celebrate renovation of Children's Cancer Hospital
With the recent ribbon cutting for the renovated and newly expanded floor for pediatric and young adult patients, M.D. Anderson celebrated the coming together of all of its pediatric treatment services and a host of related amenities in a single area of the vast cancer center complex. You could call it the new Children's Cancer Hospital.
A heavy-hitter entourage visited the updated facilities that include Ronald McDonald Family Room areas, an in-hospital school, a large play park, a kitchen, a teen room and other amenities. The beauty of this new floor is that floor patients, families and staff all had input on its design.
Top guns on hand included M.D. Anderson president Dr. Ron DePinho, Children's Cancer Hospital director Dr. Eugenie Kleinerman and Texas Medical Center president Dr. Robert Robbins.
Members from the Children’s Cancer Hospital Advisory Board joined the festivities including Patsy Fourticq, Barbara Hurwitz, Luci Baines Johnson, Pam Onstead, Karen Comisky, Donna and Tim Culliver and Elizabeth Epley. Long-time M.D. Anderson supporter Diane Lokey Farb was on hand as were members of M.D. Anderson’s Advance Team Ashley Loeffler and Jennifer Daniels and Board of Visitors senior member Gloria Hicks.
