Importance of charitable health care on the table at El Centro de Corazonbenefit luncheon
The current state of the health care system in Harris County was the primary dish at the El Centro de Corazon luncheon, held at Hotel ZaZa. Leading the compelling discussion were Methodist Hospital CEO Dr. Marc Boom, Harris County Hospital District CEO David Lopez and Harris County Public Health and Enviornmental Services executive director Dr. Herminia Palacio.
They spoke before a luncheon crowd of 250 on the critical need for organizations such as El Centro, which provides health care services to the uninsured and under-insured.
The luncheon was chaired by Pattie Dale Tye with Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and wife Gwen, long-time supporters of El Centro, serving as honorary chairs. KHOU Channel 11 news anchor Lily Jang served as emcee.
Seen in the crowd: David Ruiz, Donna and Igor Alexander, Karen Love, Valerie Gibbs, Gloria Bounds, Marcie Mir, Diane Hasell, Frances Castaneda-Dyess, Dr. Julie Boom and Margaret and Joel Shannon.
