Houston Arboretum overrun with jubilant kids & adults: Train rides, a carnival and hundreds of books
It was a colorful spring fling at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center when the Texas Children's Ambassadors took for over a festive family fundraiser. More than 800 moms, dads and kiddos romped through the woods on the beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Elizabeth and Judson Wolfe hosted the kid fest that encouraged attendees to bring books (hundreds were donated) for the Texas Children's Project Medical Homes, the hospital's five community-based primary care pediatric practices.
Among the entertainments were carnival rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, a photo booth, trackless train, rock climbing wall, bounce house, face painting and miles of woodland trails for the family to explore. Sustenance for all this activity was provided by A Fare Extraordinaire, which offered picnic-style treats for kids and grown-ups.
Breathing deeply in the fresh outdoors were Jennifer and Chris Brown, Michael Fertitta, Jennifer Tellepsen, Stephanie and Ben Hertzog, Staci and John Donovan, Cris Daskevich, Beth Wolff and Debbie and Kent Chenevert.
