Big spenders become waiters for one night at "Kissed by an Angel" fundraiser
A swell house, social swans and a couple of dozen biz wigs donning serving attire for a worthy cause — those would be the key ingredients for the eighth annual Clayton Dabney Foundation for Kids "Kissed by an Angel" fundraiser.
This girls' night out is somewhat different from the typical girly parties that are filled with boutique shopping, frilly entertainments and an obvious absence of testosterone. No, this night enlists the husbands of major underwriters to work as waiters as the gals mix and mingle. So there they were, inside and outside of Paige and Todd Johnson's swankienda in the Memorial area.
The fellows including Wayne Gross, Bentley Fondren, Grady Roberts, Peter Shaper and Doug Schnitzer spent part of the evening making sure that the Mexican fare from El Patio and the libations were never far from the ladies' reach. The remainder of the night they partied themselves.
Paige and Sissy Roberts chaired the event that raised more than $180,000 for the non-profit.
Chilling on this pleasant evening were Diane Stout, Melissa DeAyala, Suzanne Odem, Gina Aaronson, Leah Crosswell, Kathleen Panus, Anne Carl, Courtney Elias, Jill Deutser, Amy Shaper, Shawn Fatjo, Kara Childress and Ruth Gay.
