TV star stylist thrills the hot fashionistas at a trendy River Oaks boutique
With two decades of costuming actors, styling celebrities and studying fashion under his belt, David Zyla knows a thing or two about dressing well and what fashion trends need to be embraced. He shared that wisdom with a coterie of fashionistas at Atrium Ready to Wear, when owner Luvi Wheelock threw a champagne reception and book signing in his honor.
His first book, The Color of Style, published in 2010was followedby the paperback edition, Color Your Style, published a year later. Since that time the designer for such soaps as All My Children (he won an Emmy for costume design), General Hospital and Devious Maids has been making the fashion rounds nationally and internationally. In November, he launched Color Me Stylish on Jewelry Television, the show focusing on how best to wear colorful jewelry.
The fashion flock poured into the chic boutique in River Oaks Shopping Center for a visit with Zyla and to pick up a copy of his book for autographing.
Perusing the designer fashions by Jason Wu, Vera Wang, Prabal Gurung and the like were guests including Luvy Gonzalez, Valerie and Will Dittner, Monica Abney, Kirsten and William Guerra, Katy Atlas, Leigh Evans, Kathy Harrison, Nan and Joe Evans and Brooke and Greg Candelaria.
