Did you know it's Gulf Seafood night? Trying not to forget the oil spill
It seems like the devastating BP Gulf oil spill happened a lifetime ago. Though the oil finally stopped leaking into Gulf waters in August, cleanup still continues and the Gulf seafood industry continues to take a hit.
But Wednesday night, there is one thing people can do to show their support and dispel the lingering notion that Gulf seafood is unsafe.
Nationwide approximately 200 restaurants are participating in America's Night Out for Gulf Seafood, creating special prix fixe menus touting the best of the bounty of America's third coast.
In Houston, Brennan's of Houston and the trio of Babin's Seafood locations are participating.
Brennan's three-course menu includes a West Indies blue crab “Faulk” salad, whole roasted Gulf red snapper courtbouillon, and its famous bananas foster for $39, with an optional wine pairing for an additional $41.
At Babin's guests can choose from Gulf seafood dishes like shrimp gumbo, grouper, shrimp tampico in a three-course menu for $27.99.
Eating well and supporting a good cause has never been so easy.
