Blacksmith Coffee is coming soon to Montrose landmark with serious foodie powerfrom Erin Smith
It's only been about a month since Erin Smith left her longtime post as executive chef of Plonk, and luckily for Houston foodies, she's already got another local gig lined up.
Smith will join Ecky Prabanto and David Buehrer as a chef/consultant at Blacksmith Coffee Bar when it opens in late December, as announced via press release on Wednesday.
Located in the building that formerly housed the iconic gay bar Mary's, Naturally, Blacksmith is the latest venture from Bobby Heugel and the other guys behind the Anvil empire, who have partnered with local fave Greenway Coffee & Tea owners Buehrer and Prabanto for their second coffee concept and their first above-ground space.
“We’re happy to bring Erin Smith on board to make sure the food is as good as the coffee is going to be. I think that the full breakfast experience with amazing coffee and awesome food is going to be unique and exciting for Houston," said Buehrer in a statement.
As he added when Blacksmith was announced last year, "We had a special opportunity with Mary's to add a small kitchen — this excites us. We love food. Seriously. To say that we are undeniable food fanatics would be like pointing out the stripes on a tiger."
