The cookiepocalypse is nigh: Tiff's Treats plans to invade Houston with warmcookie delivery service
As I was recently reminded at Down House, there's almost nothing better than a warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven cookie melting in your mouth. It's up there with diving into a cool body of water on a hot day and sipping hot chocolate after playing in the snow.
So when then-University of Texas sophomores Tiffany Taylor Chen and Leon Chen started Tiff's Treats just over 10 years ago, promising guaranteed warm cookies available in-store or by delivery, it unsurprisingly became a sensation. Since then the idea has expanded to three locations in Austin and four in the Dallas area.
Now, after a capital infusion of $2.2 million from Austin's Raglesville Lake Partners Ltd., Tiff's Treats is heading to Houston. The Austin Business Journal first reported that Tiff's Treats plans to open five stores in Houston in 2012, with the first to debut in the spring.
Have you tried Tiff's Treats? Are you down with cookie delivery? And can anything stop the rise of the snickerdoodle now?
