It's no longer the pits: Killen recovers stolen barbecue grill after anonymous tip

An $8,000 barbecue pit stolen from Killen's Steakhouse in Pearland has been recovered. KHOU Channel 11 reports that the large pit, which mysteriously disappeared Thursday night from behind the restaurant where owner Ronnie Killen has launched a series of popular weekend "pop up" barbecue lunches, was found after Killen received an anonymous phone call on Saturday.
The pit was located behind an abandoned building near Alabama and College in Houston after the caller said he had seen it on Facebook.
It's not the first time this summer that a barbecue thief has messed with Killen. Someone ran off with 15 pounds of the chef's legendary brisket last month.
