Popular Woodlands hot spot brewing up a new Houston-area location
Popular Woodlands hangout Woodson’s Local Tap + Kitchenis expanding its reach. The restaurant will take over 6,700 square feet in the Birnham Woods Marketplace, off the Grand Parkway and Birnham Woods Drive, in the Spring area. A late 2018 opening is planned.
The casual neighborhood spot will replicate the elements that made it such a hit since it opened last March. Look for an expansive, dog-friendly patio, modern rustic décor, large bar, and plethora of strategically placed TVs in Woodson’s new location. Ditto the popular menu of flatbreads, signature mac and cheese options, specialty egg rolls, Southern favorites, plus array of salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Guests can pair their fare with a full bar and extensive Texas craft draft beer selection.
In addition to its scratch made menu, Woodson’s had made local sourcing a priority, engaging partners such as Slow Dough Bread. Beyond food, though, the business is committed to working with local businesses for everything from its buildout to custom furniture.
Birnham Woods Marketplace reps believe the restaurant will be an instant go-to for diners.
“Our goal with this project has been to create a synergistic retail destination with tenants that meet the various needs of the local community, and we’re thrilled to add a concept like Woodson’s Local Tap + Kitchen,” said Eric Walker of Capital Retail Properties (which represents the development), in a statement. “The most frequent request from nearby residents has been for a full-service restaurant, and we feel this concept is a perfect fit. Woodson’s has proven to be a winner with a similar demographic in an affluent growth area in the North Woodlands, and the owners live in close proximity to Birnham Woods Marketplace, so they fully understand the market.”
When it debuts later this year, Woodson’s will join existing tenants such as a next generation Kroger Marketplace store, 1000 Degrees Neapolitan pizza, Memorial Hermann, Inner Element Fitness, Blue Lion Salons Studios, GNC, Nails of America, Sprint, PetSmart, Great Clips, and Kumon among others. A Regal Cinema is scheduled to break ground adjacent to the site in 2018.
