The New Bar Universe
New Midtown bar promises to serve only "American" craft beer: Is the USA, USA chant next?
It might be only a matter of time before bar crawlers abandon Washington Avenue completely in favor of Midtown.
Yet another new bar is joining the clan of saloons that populates the Smith and Webster street area with Houston's bar scene seemingly shifting Midtown yet again. 3rd Floor Bar will be competing with neighbors such as Celtic Gardens and Howl at the Moon as well as Pub Fiction, which occupies the terra firma right beneath 3rd Floor's new elevated digs. It plans to open sometime this summer.
The Facebook page promotes a wide selection of beers on tap and emphasizes, "That's American made craft beers."
In the meantime, 3rd Floor has been keeping its future beer guzzling fans updated through social media. The bar's Facebook page shows pictures of scenic views from a patio, booth seating with rustic overhead lamps and an ominous metal "3" advertising the name. And the most important part, a sneak peek of the bar.
The Facebook page promotes a wide selection of beers on tap and emphasizes, "That's American made craft beers. If it wasn't brewed in this country, it won't be pouring from our taps. God Bless the USA!"
There are also promises of "50 wines by the glass" kept fresh by a "wine preservation system."
A recent visit to the location revealed that 3rd Floor Bar is still currently under construction. Management did not respond to requests for more information.
