Hooters beware: New brazen breastaurant chain determined to topple the hot Houston market
Almost a year after securing naming rights for an entire Texas town, Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill continues its Lone Star takeover with a brand new location next to Willowbrook Mall.
The popular "breastaurant," a term the chain actually trademarked in April, has been on an aggressive campaign to dominate the state's ever-profitable love of bar food and scantly-clad servers. A Woodlands branch has been thriving along I-45 since last summer.
"Following the success of The Woodlands location, it only made sense that we provided fans in the area another opportunity to enjoy the Bikinis experience," owner Doug Guller said in a statement about opening the company's second Houston-area branch (and 14th overall in the country).
The Willowbrook Bikinis is taking over the space formerly occupied by Burger Girl — a Dallas-based breastaurant chain which failed to find footing in the Bayou City as like-minded establishments such as Twin Peaks and Bone Daddies continue to gain traction.
The new location sits just across the highway from an aging Hooter's, almost provoking the pioneering breastaurant into a modern day "Ballad of John Henry" scenario . . . only sleazier.
