A bite in the Big Apple
Tilman Fertitta ready to show New York City where's the beef with Vic &Anthony's in Manhattan
Sure, Tilman Fertitta's restaurant empire already includes 19 eateries in the New York/New Jersey area. But soon, the Galveston native is offering an authentic Lone Star brand in New York City with Vic & Anthony's at 233 Park Ave. South at 19th St. The doors of the new restaurant opened for lunch on Tuesday.
The steakhouse, named after Fertitta's father and uncle, respectively, opened to rave reviews in Houston a decade ago and remains packed most nights with diners salivating over the crab cakes, prime beef, lobster and other popular dishes.
For those who want to be in the know in Manhattan, ask for general manager Tom McCarthy.
The concept has proven so popular that Fertitta has opened a Vic & Anthony's in his Golden Nugget Las Vegas and at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City, formerly the Trump Marina. That latter property is gearing up for a grand re-opening weekend April 27-29 with headliners Third Eye Blind, Whoopi Goldberg and the Oakridge Boys.
Fertitta returned from New York Wednesday night after several days of helicoptering back and forth between renovations at the Golden Nugget and work at the new Vic & Anthony's.
