Shake Shack unwraps highly anticipated new downtown Houston location

Looks like downtown Houston office workers won't have to wait for baseball season to get their Shake Shack fix. The New York-based global burger chain announced that it will open a new location at 712 Main St., confirming rumors first reported last week by Swamplot.
Previously a Brown Bag Deli, the new location will be Houston's fourth full-time Shake Shack, joining locations in the Galleria, Rice Village, and Montrose. Timing of the building and permitting process can always be a bit uncertain, but the company expects the restaurant to open this summer.
Started as a hamburger stand in New York City's Madison Square Park, Shake Shack has grown into a certified global phenomenon. The company's iconic ShackBurger starts with premium beef from celebrated butcher Pat LaFrieda that's "smashed" on a griddle, topped with mayonnaise-based ShackSauce, and served on a potato bun. Hand-spun shakes and signature frozen custards round out the experience.
Houston locations also feature the Texas-exclusive Lockhart Link burger, made with jalapeño-cheese sausage sourced from legendary Texas barbecue joint Kreuz Market, and desserts that feature ingredients sourced from local restaurants such as Fluff Bake Bar and UB Preserve.
