Oysters, ahoy! Get ready for Foodways Texas' Gulf cuisine learning party
Oysters do make a symposium better. As any foodie knows.
Foodways Texas is a premier group for foodies.
Foodways Texas, the premier group for foodies committed to exploring and preserving the unique local food heritage, is gathering for its first-ever symposium all about Texas culinary traditions — and it's all happening at Texas A&M-Galveston next month.
"It will be like a Southern Foodways Alliance symposium, having academic speakers and experts of various subjects come and talk as well as having some famous community seafood events like oyster roasts and shrimp boils as our food events," director Robb Walsh told CultureMap in November.
The FTX Houston launch at Armadillo Palace was quite the happening, but the Foodways Texas Symposium will be a two-day celebration of Texas Gulf cuisine, with academic panels and sessions in between meals from Louisiana Foods, Dallas' Smoke Restaurant and Gaido's.
Tickets are $285 and went on sale Tuesday morning.
