Tilman's shopping spree
Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta buys more than 5 acres of Galleria-area properties
Houston’s Billion Dollar Buyer has continued his real estate shopping spree. Landry’s owner Tilman Fertitta has acquired two more properties in the Galleria area that expand his existing holdings by more than five acres.
The first, 777 Post Oak Blvd, is a 9-story office building that sits on over two acres of land at the intersection of Post Oak Boulevard and Hollyhurst Lane, which is adjacent to Fertitta’s luxury hotel complex The Post Oak. For now, the only immediate plans are a new walkway that will make it easier to get from the office building to The Post Oak.

In a separate transaction, Fertitta has also acquired the 3.4-acre vacant lot at 4702 Westheimer. Located next to River Oaks District, the purchase paves the way for a potential expansion of the luxurious mixed-use development.
Fertitta made a splash in March when he announced he had purchased River Oaks District for a reported $450 million. Its proximity to the Post Oak complex is expected to create synergy between the two developments.
Terms of the two recent purchases were not disclosed.
With the three transactions, Fertitta has acquired more than 20 acres of some of Houston’s most desirable real estate. In addition to Landry’s, Fertitta also owns the Houston Rockets. Forbes estimates his net worth at more than $9 billion.
