Houston's red-hot luxury housing market is still booming as the end of the year nears. With that in mind, the Houston Association of Realtors has revealed the most expensive inventory (read: the 10 priciest homes sold) in the month of October.
Brand-new builds and marvelously updated and renovated estates are among the list of astonishing abodes, ranging from a Tudor-inspired mansion to a historic-designated home in Houston's Rice/Museum district.
1. 1069 Kirby Drive, River Oaks
List price: $6.99 million; sell price range: $5.86 to $6.77 million

Not surprisingly, Houston's No. 1 most enviable estate that was sold in October is located in none other than the prestigious River Oaks area. The home at 1069 Kirby Dr. was originally built in 1983 and features six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and three half baths across 9,262 square feet of space. The home received a couple luxurious facelifts in 2017 and 2020 to keep up with modern trends while still maintaining it's classic charm.
If the spacious bedrooms, expertly designed chef's kitchen, or five gas fireplaces aren't enough to suit the new owners and any potential guests, they can always console themselves with a chilled bottle of wine from the 590-square-foot climate-controlled wine room while they lounge along the relaxing pool cabana. Other luxurious features on the property include a three-car garage and a 850-square-foot one-bedroom apartment above it, and an additional three-car carport.

The home that earned the No. 4 ranking for Houston's most expensive home sold in October is a tie between 10 N. Fazio Way in The Woodlands, and 5506 Russet Drive in Houston's upscale Tanglewood neighborhood.
The former of these deluxe properties is a 9,350 square-foot contemporary Mediterranean-inspired masterpiece in coveted suburban destination Carlton Woods Creekside. Custom-made furnishings, multiple TVs, and a few deluxe kitchen and laundry appliances were included in the sale of the home.
The kitchen in this not-so-humble abode comes equipped with Thermador appliances, consisting of two sinks, two dishwashers, double ovens, and a six-burner stove. While there's one main refrigerator in the kitchen, the large walk-in pantry doubles as a scullery and hides away the second refrigerator.
4. 5506 Russet Drive, Tanglewood (Tie)

Similar to another Rice/Museum District treasure that was one of the most pricey Houston homes sold in July, 1 W. 11th Pl. showcases an abundance of greenery around the property.
According to its listing, the five bedroom, three full bath, and two half bath house was built in 1925 and is a designated historic home. There's an adjacent guest house on the property that also claims the chilled wine room that's capable of storing hundreds of bottles of its owner's favorite vintages.

This condo is the epitome of elegance, as shown by the grand foyer that greets visitors upon exiting the private elevator into the 6,224 square-foot home.
