H-E-B sets Nov. 16 opening date for Montrose store; new food truck added

H-E-B has set Nov. 16 as the opening date for its new Montrose supermarket.
Director of public affairs Cyndy Garza-Roberts informed community leaders of the opening date in an letter inviting them to a private luncheon at the Menil Collection on Nov. 15, where new store manager Shannon Simpson will provide detailed information about the 78,000-sq. ft. flagship supermarket located at the corner of Dunlavy and West Alabama.
Among the new store features detailed in the letter:
- A new line of European-style sandwiches sold at the Cafe on the Run
- A cheese shop with more than 40 offerings from Cypress Grove
- A bakery offering breads and cakes made from scratch and an in-store tortillaria
- An extended selection of organic produce
- An in-store juicer to create fresh fruit and veggie juices
- H-E-B's first-ever food truck, dubbed "Fork in the Road"
