Skanska sells new Post Oak office tower for $112 million
A new high-rise on Post Oak Boulevard has a new owner just as its first tenant moves in. Skanska USA Commercial Development announced on Friday that it sold the 3009 Post Oak Boulevard property to Post Oak Building LLC. The price is a reported $112 million, according to a press release on the Global Newswire.
The 20-story tower, with 12 stories of office space sitting atop an eight-story parking garage, features a glass curtain wall façade and expansive views of the Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park. The building has been pre-certified LEED Platinum, the highest rating for energy efficiency offered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The tower, the first development in Houston by the subsidiary of Skanska, the giant global construction and development company based in Stockholm, is nearly full occupied. Alliantgroup, a providers of specialty tax services, announced on Friday it will lease 200,000 square feet of office space in the new tower. Other tenants include Becker Datacert, Becker Interests and Skanska USA, which will be first tenant to occupy the building at the end of this month.
Skanska currently has two other projects in Houston – the downtown redevelopment of the Houston Club site at 811 Rusk and a major office building in Houston's Energy Corridor.
