At Your Doorstep
What's around this hot Houston high-rise? Absolutely everything.
If it seems like the Latitude Med Center apartment community has it all, it's because it basically does. There are microunits for medical professionals who need a crash pad near work, but also more traditional homes for those who just want to take advantage of Latitude's biggest perk: its location.
Of course Texas Medical Center is right nearby, but there are several other hot spots that are on every Houstonians' radar.
Shopping and dining
Since 1938, Rice Village has held a spot as one of the most beloved retail and mixed-use districts in Houston — and it just keeps growing. Buzzy eateries such as Shake Shack, Sixty Vines, and Hopdoddy have all recently invited the neighborhood to the table, while dessert must-haves Susie Cakes and Steel City Pops have satisfied sweet-tooth cravings all summer long. Fashionistas can get their fill at both the boutique shops and larger retailers, and it doesn't hurt that strolling the grounds is a pretty and pleasant experience. Keep an eye on the district's calendar, as it often hosts fun events that are open to the public.
Entertainment
Sports fan? Then you'll love that NRG Park is just a few minutes from the apartments. You can cheer on the Houston Texans or spend time at the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in the stadium and rock out to concerts at the arena.
Culture
Houston's famous Museum District is one of the largest walkable cultural districts in the U.S., and guess what? It's walkable from Latitude Med Center, too. Comprised of 19 museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Children's Museum, and the Museum of Natural Science, you can take your pick of fascinating exhibitions and eye-opening artwork.
Nightlife
There's no shortage of hot spots to hit up once the sun goes down. Get glam and head to Hotel ZaZa, a boutique hotel that boasts a happening bar, or sample some sips at Houston's first craft cocktail bar, Under the Volcano. Freshly squeezed juices and fresh herbs go into the Latin American-themed drinks, and the atmosphere is just as tantalizing. For something a bit more relaxed, Gorgeous Gael slings pints just as authentically as any Irish pub should, while you can always catch a game (or several) at Little Woodrow's.
Nature
Houston's garden gem, Hermann Park, isn't just for joggers (though they love it, too). There's also a serene pond with paddle boats, a lovely cafe, and all the gorgeous outdoor space you could ever desire. Also nearby are McGovern Centennial Gardens, Hermann Park Golf Course, and the Houston Zoo (which is technically part of the Museum District, but we think it deserves its own mention).
Hospitals and education
If your profession or course of study lines up with Latitude Med Center's name, then you're in luck. Some of Houston's best hospitals and higher education options are super close, cutting down on commute time and making it easier than ever to get to work or class. Take your scholarly pick from Rice University, University of Texas, Baylor, and Prairie View, while all major hospitals — including the world-renowned Texas Children's Hospital — are just minutes away.
If you ever do need to travel outside your neighborhood, transportation options abound. Living at Latitude Med Center means you have easy access to the METRORail, public transit, and Houston's B-Cycle program for bike rentals. The city truly is at your fingertips.
