Luxe Apartment Life
Greenway developer entices apartment dwellers with private dog park, cyber cafe, lap pool
With so many new apartments going up in Houston, developers keep raising the ante to lure young professionals looking for plush digs.
Leasing has commenced at Pearl Greenway, a 341-unit luxury apartment complex from The Morgan Group at 3788 Richmond Avenue — and the developer claims that this one is unlike anything else on the rental market.
Upscale amentities include a swanky clubhouse with mod decor, plush seating and Top 40 music playing overhead; a cyber café and business center with iMacs and a coffee station; a gym full of state-of-the-art equipment, with a separate room that can be adapted for small aerobics and spin classes.
There's even a private dog park, complete with artificial turf, play obstacles and a K9000® Dog Wash, as well as plenty of benches for the humans.

The complex also includes a Las Vegas-style pool courtyard, surrounded by grills, lounge chairs and cabanas decked out with beds, fans and televisions, and a Zen-like lap pool slated at the other end to offer a quiet respite from that party vibe.
Each of the three buildings will be outfitted with distinct interior finishes, including Modern (marked by glossy white and slate grey), Metropolitan and Modern Ranch (meant to mimic the Texas Hill Country's signature style). First-level apartments along Timmons Lane have stoops that open to street-level and interior-facing units have direct access to courtyards, while balconies are available in select upper-story units.
Alarm systems, washers and dryers come standard, as do other technological conveniences: iPod docks set into living room walls, surround sound speaker systems, USB outlets on the kitchen island and electronic fobs rather than traditional keyed entries. The parking garage, which is accessed via EZ TAG, has six spaces outfitted with eVgo electric car charging stations.
One bedroom, 650-square-foot units start at $1,450 per month, with 2 bedroom/2 bath units running up to 1,710 square feet and $3,575 monthly. The first phase began leasing last Friday. The second building will be open for rental by June, and completion the third and final phase is slated for October.
