Unique social media campaign adds big bucks for Houston charities: All you have to do is 'like'
This year, Bounce Energy is helping raise awareness and funds for 12 amazing charities with a unique social media campaign — and you can help out, too.
Each month, the Texas-based electricity company starts with a base donation of $2,500, and for each new 'like' on the Bounce Energy page on Facebook or follow for @BounceEnergy on Twitter, an additional 50 cents donation is added for the charity designated that month.
So far this year, Bounce Energy raised an impressive $57,000 to support these hard-working charities. The good causes include:
January — YMCA Houston
The YMCA is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility.
February — Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Houston/Galveston
Ronald McDonald House Houston offers a home away from home providing care, compassion and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions.
March — St. Jude's Ranch
St. Jude's Ranch helps transform the lives of abused and at-risk children, young adults and families by empowering them to create new chances, new choices and new hope in a caring community.
April — Conservation Fund
With the help of staff, the Conservation Fund creates and implements innovative, practical ways to benefit the natural world and the well-being of Americans from every walk of life.
May — The Boot Campaign

July — The Periwinkle Foundation

"Our monthly charity campaign has been a great way for the company to not only connect with the community, but also learn about the growing number of charitable organizations throughout Houston and its surrounding areas."
