Tech takeover? Apple poised to overthrow Exxon as the most valuable company inthe world

Computer, computer, on the Web, who is the most valuable company of them all?
The oracle that is the Internet will currently answer your question with, "Exxon, of course."
But not for much longer.
After a quarter that resulted in a whopping $28.57 billion in record revenue and a record net profit of $7.31 billion, Apple is a mere $50 billion dollars from overtaking Exxon as the largest company by market capitalization.
Granted, this may sound like an astronomical figure to plebeians like us.
But considering the stagnancy that has characterized Exxon as of late, coupled with Apple's meteoric rise in the face of recession — well, we may see a crude dethroning sooner rather than later.
