Summer At Fusion
Fusion Academy transforms the way summer school looks with one-to-one teaching
Fusion Academy is changing what summer school looks like. The SACS-accredited, non-traditional private middle and high school school is completely one-to-one: one student and one teacher per classroom.
“We believe in the power of one-to-one teaching," says Head of School Rebecca Lazarou. "We are a school for students who aren’t thriving in a more traditional school environment.”
Students are able to enroll at any time, and due to personalized scheduling, are able to take classes at a time of day that works best for students and their families. In a one-to-one classroom, teachers are able to customize curriculum to each student’s strengths, interests, and learning style, while still meeting state standards.
The unique campus in The Galleria includes a state-of-the-art recording studio, and a mixed media art studio where students can explore their creativity. Classes include Digital Photography, DJ Performing Arts, Vocal Fundamentals, Graphic Design, Studio Art, and more.
There are over 250 courses available, and they are available at essential, college prep, and honors levels. During the summer, many students choose to take classes for credit to make up or replace a grade, or get a jump-start on the upcoming semester.
Summer at Fusion allows students to catch up, get ahead, or try something new, all in a personalized learning environment. Fusion offers summer school basics like classes for credit and test preparation, along with some unique programs like Roadtrip Nation, a class where students pursue their passions and interests on a journey of self-discovery. Their summer offerings can be found at FusionSummer.com.
The Fusion Readiness program is a new offering that allows students to take two weeks at the end of the summer to combat summer learning loss or prepare for the upcoming semester.
Fusion Houston Galleria is offering some special summer themes like: grossology, Lego building, forensic science, character development, and movement and pantomime. Teachers are available to help with ACT/SAT test preparation and Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).
They will be offering a Summer Sneak Preview on April 7 for those interested in learning more about their summer options. Visit FusionHoustonGalleria.com to see upcoming events.
