a good day for daiso
Japanese discount store Daiso debuts in Spring with fun and practical wares
A fun, Japanese-inspired store known for cheap gifts will open its newest Houston outpost next month. Daiso is opening at Klein Square in Spring on May 18.
Located at 16874 Stuebner Airline Road in a center anchored by Ross, the store encompasses 8,300 square feet. It promises to be a haven for shoppers seeking Japanese-inspired home decor, stationery, food, and more.
The opening follows another Daiso that opened in March in Cypress at 10245 North Fwy Ste 140, near a Marshall’s. That store is slightly smaller at 6,500 square feet. Daiso already has a number of stores in the Houston area, including Sugar Land, Katy, and Pearland.
Founded in Japan in 1977, Daiso entered the US market in 2005 and is headquartered in La Mirada, California. It carries thousands of products: kitchenware, beauty supplies, stationery, wrapping paper, electronic accessories, greeting cards, party favors, and plushie toys, plus exotic-ish snacks such as wasabi peanuts. They currently have 125 locations in seven states.
On both May 18 and May 19, the first 100 customers to spend at least $30 at the new location will receive a goodie bag and a plushie.
"We are thrilled to open our store at Klein Square," Daiso USA’s chief retail operations officer Jack Williams said in a statement. "This achievement reflects the dedication and support of our customers who have embraced Daiso's unique concept and diverse product range. We are excited to provide an exceptional shopping experience to the vibrant Spring community and look forward to serving our customers with the utmost care and dedication."
Once open, the store’s hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday from 9 am - 9 pm and Sunday from 10 am - 8 pm.
