Clear Lake families will soon be shopping for Billy bookcases and Poang armchairs. Swedish furniture giant IKEA will open its second full-service Houston-area store in Webster at 9:30 am on Friday, June 26.
Located in the Center at Baybrook shopping center (19801 Gulf Fwy), it will be the company’s second Houston-area store and 10th in Texas. The store is known for its affordable, ready-to-assemble furniture, accessories, and other home items.
“We are proud to open our 10th store in the state of Texas as we continue to expand across the region,” Rob Olson, interim CEO of IKEA U.S., said in a statement. “IKEA Webster marks our third store opening in Texas this year and reflects our investment in making the IKEA experience more affordable, accessible and convenient, while inspiring customers to design their dream space.”
Coming in at an impressive 93,000-square-feet, the store will offer 7,000 products, including 4,800 that can be taken home directly from the store. Larger items, such as sofa and beds, may be ordered for in store pick-up or delivery.
Shoppers will find fully furnished rooms and design consultants to help inspire them for how to decorate their homes. In addition, the store’s signature Swedish food market offers meatballs, plant balls, hot dogs, veggie dogs, cinnamon buns, and more.
IKEA’s “As-is Department” fosters sustainability by selling used products, discontinued items, and other products at lower prices to prevent them from being discarded.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to our second store in the Houston metro area,” added IKEA Houston market manager Fredrik Rabe. “IKEA Webster reflects our continued investment in the region, and we’re excited to celebrate this milestone with the community at our grand opening.”
After Friday’s grand opening, IKEA Webster will open daily at 10 am.
