Suite life: Downtown hotel spiffs up two-story Grand Suites with spiral staircase and dramatic views
The downtown Hyatt Regency Houston bills itself as the city's only hotel to feature two-story hotel suites — and now they're gotten better.
The two Grand Suites, located on the 29th floor of the 34-floor hotel, not too far below the Spindletop revolving rooftop restaurant, have recently been refurbished.
One suite features three bedrooms, including an upstairs master suite with a sitting area, dual walk-in showers, double vanity and spacious closet with a private makeup area.
The other suite has two bedrooms, as well as the other features of the larger suite, including a large sitting area, a dining/conference table with room for eight, as well as a wet bar and serving space. The two Grand Suites also feature large HDTV’s, desktop computer and printer in master bedrooms, Keurig coffee center, walk-in closets and refrigerator.
Both suites include floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for incredible views of Houston's skyline, and a dramatic spiral staircase.
A single-night rate for the two-bedroom Grand Suite starts at $1,139 and the three-bedroom starts at $1,300.
UPDATE: While the Hyatt bills itself at the only hotel with multi-story suites, a representative for Hotel Icon and Hotel Sorella tells CultureMap that both properties have multi-story suites. Hotel Icon has featured a two-story and three-story suite since opening in 2004 and Hotel Sorella in CityCentre recently added two, two-story suites to its inventory of 22 penthouses.
