While the judging has finished and ribbons awarded, there's still time to view these floral works of art, along with artwork that inspired them, today at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

As one of the nation's largest competitive flower shows, "Florescence" showcases floral interpretations of masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston permanent collection, along with rare and exotic plant specimens, miniature gardens, photography, botanical jewelry and needle arts. With the judging finished and ribbons awarded, CultureMap contributing photographer Michelle Watson captured some of the beautiful and inspiring arrangements. In this photo, exhibitor Susan Detjens of the Millbrook Garden Club based her arrangement on Joan Mitchell's "Sun Flowers" and won 2nd Place, Flower Arrangement - Exploration.
