Before an October 25 live performance at Floore’s County Store in Helotes, country artist Randy Rogers unveiled the honky-tonk haberdashery. In partnership with Fort Worth-based Justin Brand, the burger chain has created boots emblazoned with the Whataburger logo.
Starting October 29, well-shod Whata fans can take a spin around the dance floor in a wide range of men’s and women’s sizes. A release states the shoes are exclusively available via the Whatastore, Whataburger’s online retail platform, for $249.99, with free shipping and handling to boot (sorry).
Each pair is made with more than five square feet of leather and 12,488 stitches in the Whataburger logo alone. With 105 steps in the production process, the boots take 120 days to make.
Those worried about looking like a rodeo clown will be happy to know that the boots are surprisingly subtle. Though the stitching is colored in distinctive bright orange, the men’s square-toe version is a mellow tobacco and the pointy women’s pair is a richer dark brown.
True fans of San Antonio-based fast-food chain can combine the footwear with a branded T-shirt, a James Avery charm, or zany french fry sunglasses.
Whataburger zealots can also always commission a bespoke suit from the recently relaunched Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors, the clothier famous for making flashy gear for Elvis Presley and Gram Parsons. Though at thousands of dollars a pop, purchasing one may require laying off of the burgers.
