Massage Luxury
Three-hour massage takes luxury to whole new level in serene surroundings
There's certainly no shortage of spas in Houston; nowadays, you can get a standard rubdown just about anywhere. But, there's one spa in the city that goes the extra mile.
Taking luxury to a whole other level is Kyrie Body and Skin, where you can get the crème de la crème of massages: an unprecedented three-hour experience.
And while dropping $375 for a 180-minute massage may seem excessive, it’s worth every dime. Here’s why.
Meet your therapist
When you really need to unwind away from home, there's no better way to indulge than heading to a relaxing studio for some much-needed hands-on therapy. You’re in well-trained hands with elite therapist and Kyrie Body and Skin owner Kira Rogala.
Before founding Kyrie five years ago, Rogala honed in her skills with stints at The Four Seasons Jackson Hole and The Four Seasons Houston, both four-star spas, and Houston’s Fiori Day Spa.
Rogala’s background as an ultramarathon runner and endurance athlete has provided an expert foundation for working with all types of clients, including professional athletes, and in her specialty, deep tissue massage. Rogala's wide range of offerings also includes: craniosacral therapy, Esalen massage, Shirodhara head massage, ancient bodywork, prenatal massages for moms-to-be and more.
A licensed massage therapist since 2004, Rogala, who attended The National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, Virginia, holds a national certification with NCBTMB. She not only has the background and the degrees to be the best at what she does, she also the passion for it.
“As cliché as it may sound, when people say to me, 'I’m in pain and I hurt. Can you please help me?' it’s a nice feeling to say, yes, I can help,” says Rogala.
Serene surroundings
Feel like you’re in paradise in the heart of the city at Kyrie Body and Skin, housed in a private room on the first floor of luxe residential building, Upper Kirby. Enjoy being pampered in a tranquil and intimate setting at Kyrie, complete with candles, relaxing music, aromatherapy and a heated massage table with plush linens, blankets and bolsters, plus plenty of fruit and bottled water for replenishment.
Get to know Rogala over the course of your appointment. The three-hour journey, a mini-staycation sans the cost of airfare, allows time to develop a comfort level with your therapist, making you to feel right at home. Bonus: An additional 30 minutes is available for napping, meditation and relaxation after your massage, so take your time getting back to the grind. As well, 60-, 90- and 120-minute appointments are available.
Hurts so good
Take advantage of the unique three-hour massage, a service one may expect only on a long-haul vacation at a top-rated spa.
Your soulful massage with Rogala includes full body relaxation and a focus on your specific requests and areas of need.
Expect special attention paid to your scalp, hand, and feet — areas that normally don’t get addressed. Rogala's slow, focused and directed work will have you on a physical and spiritual high.
While three hours is a time investment, we’re willing to bet by the end of your sensual journey, you’ll be back for more.
“People will go to a spa, and it’s a 50-minute appointment. By the time you get there and get on the table, you’re just starting to get comfortable. Fifty minutes just isn’t enough," says Rogala.
“Conversely, from the therapist standpoint, in order to effect some change even 90 minutes isn’t a whole lot of time for that. The more time I can have my hands on you, the better. And the more results you’ll get."
Post massage, you'll feel like you're walking around in a euphoric daze, and never bother with anything less again.
