If you're like us, you love to be a trendsetter—you have the latest undiscovered band on your iPod, seek out sneak previews, and live for soft openings. So when it comes to fashion, get to know Chelsea Dreyer. This fashionable Houstonian (who also runs cool online boutique 77th Street) wanted to recreate something similar to the boutique/designer collectives that thrive in New York and Los Angeles, giving emerging local designers who haven't made it into widespread retail to reach savvy shoppers who want clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories that will set them apart from the pack.
So Dreyer created The Find, a one-weekend whirlwind that travels between Texas and the coasts with unique and ever-changing mixes of local designers. It hits Houston for fall on October 9-10 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Winter Street Studios. A $10 tariff gets you in to a warehouse full of goodies by Miel de Abejas, Luciana Carsalade, Isis Designs, Korcula and many, many more.
The best part? Each designer participating gives a portion of their proceeds to a charity of their choice. One thing's for sure: you can find us there.
