Luxury boutique in new River Oaks District gets a jump on competition with early opening date
Construction is proceeding at a rapid pace at the new River Oaks District with a target date of October 1 for many stores to open.
But one luxury boutique can't wait.
Cartier is planning to get a jump on the others with a September 3 opening. The French jeweler has been in temporary digs on Post Oak Boulevard since vacating its longtime Galleria location in the spring of 2014.
The new store, designed by Bruno Moinard and executed by Gensler, will feature limestone floors, chandeliers, hints of gold, bronze and beige tones throughout and three private viewing rooms, including the Salon Felines, an area inspired by the iconic Cartier panther.
With more then 4,500 square feet of sales space, the new store will showcase all of the Cartier jewelry collections, including Love, Trinity de Cartier, Panthère de Cartier and Amulette de Cartier, as well as Cartier’s newest jewelry collection, Paris Nouvelle Vague. The watch salon will offer a large selection of Cartier timepieces including the Tank, Santos de Cartier, Ballon Bleu de Cartier and Calibre de Cartier as well as the Maison’s newest timepiece collection, the Clè de Cartier.
The boutique will also offer a selection of engagement rings and diamond jewelry in the Diamonds Salon, as well as a full range of accessories for men and women, including Cartier’s spring leather goods introduction, the C de Cartier collection.
“Cartier has had a presence in Houston for 36 years and we’re excited to open our new boutique within the premier shopping destination, River Oaks District, Mercedes Abramo, President & CEO of Cartier North America, said in a statement. “We believe in Houston as an important, dynamic and ever-evolving market and we are looking forward to welcoming familiar friends and new clients into our home.”
