Looked Good to us
Wow! Did Chelsea Clinton wear the best-looking wedding gown ever?
Not many photos have been released from the tightly controlled wedding of Chelsea Clinton to Marc Mezvinsky, but Bill and Hillary Clinton are savvy enough to know the the public wants to see Chelsea's wedding gown.
It's a stunner.
As rumored, Vera Wang created the strapless ivory gown and included several special touches — a ball gown skirt made of raw-edged silk organza and a diagonally draped bodice with a silver-jeweled belt at the waist. The bride wore her hair pulled back and accented by a tulle veil. She carried a simple bouquet of white hydrangeas.
Wonder how long it will take knockoff artists to copy this look?
Mother-of-the-bride Hillary Clinton, who usually gets more brickbats than raves for her fashion sensibility, looked outstanding as well in a raspberry-colored dress designed by her friend, Oscar de la Renta. The color contrasted nicely with her daughter's monocromatic look.
The men got into the act too. Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey designed groom Marc Mezvinsky’s tuxedo and ties for the groomsmen and the father of the bride, former President Bill Clinton.
The guest list was considerably less flashy than rumored. Among those not there: Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, John Major and Oprah Winfrey. Among those who were: Former secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, actors Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, film producer Steven Bing, Indian-American hotelier Sant Chatwal and fashion designer Wang.
