a real scream
Houston's Christmas-themed terror fest scares up visiting TV celebs and more horrific holiday fun
If the box-office receipts of the recently released, Santa-goes-Die Hard thriller Violent Night are any indication (the $20 million film has already grossed $42 million worldwide), people enjoy some carnage during the holiday season.
Perfect timing for TerrorFest, here this weekend at The Lone Star Convention & Expo Center Conroe (9055 Airport Rd.) for fans' most bloodcurdling needs on December 17 and 18.
This Christmas-themed, horror convention show features special guests as well as other activities, including costume contests, haunted houses, celebrity autographs, photos, a game room, panels, macabre artists, vendors, and special FX workshops.
Visitors can expect Christmas-themed horror photo booths (including a Stranger Things-themed booth). Attendees will also have the chance to perform in Zombie Love Match, a continued annual series of short movies in the TerrorFest universe, filmed on the premises with participating celebrities.
As for said celebs, The Munsters’ Butch Patrick — Eddie Munster himself — will be in attendance, along with Oliver Robins (Poltergeist), Peggy Miley (Stranger Things), and Robert Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses).
More appearances from rock-and-rollers David Ellefson (Megadeth), Richie Ramone (The Ramones), and Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio). They will most likely be the celebrity judges for the battle-of-the-bands competition, where Bullethead, ZombieFace, Necroclown, The Dover Brothers, and Cassanova Caravan will be competing.
All that to say, these silent nights should be a real scream.
TerrorFest runs Saturday and Sunday, December 17 and 18 starting at 10 am. For a full rundown of events, ticket prices, and more, visit the official site.
