Legendary rock superpower Guns N' Roses heads to Houston on new world stadium tour
Don’t cry, Guns N’ Roses fans. Your patience has been rewarded.
The legendary rock band’s 2023 World Tour will arrive in Houston’s Minute Maid Park on Thursday, September 28. Kicking off in Tel Aviv, Israel on June 5, the band will also play the Alamodome in San Antonio on Tuesday, September 26.
Known for albums such as Appetite for Destruction — ranked as the best-selling debut of all time — and the seven-times platinum double album Use Your Illusion I & II, the band remains relevant today. Guns N’ Roses counts more than 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and its iconic video for “November Rain” recently passed 2 billion views on Youtube.
This year’s tour follows on the success of the band’s epic Not In This Lifetime tour that came to Houston in 2016 (read our review here) and 2017. It featured the reunion of founder/lead singer Axl Rose with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.
If those setlists are any indication, fans won’t feel estranged from the band. They’ll play hits such as “Paradise City,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” and “You Could Be Mine.” And hopefully only one or two songs from Chinese Democracy.
The band made news locally last December when it sued Jersey Village flower shop Texas Guns and Roses for trademark infringement. Local attorney David Clark said the shop planned to fight the suit.
Presale tickets for Nightrain, the band’s official fanclub, begin on Wednesday, February 22 at 10 am. General sales start at 10 am on Friday, February 24 via gunsnroses.com. Various VIP packages are also available.
