All the turkey leggies
Beyoncé stakes a claim as America's new Thanksgiving tradition
Good news for those of us who digested our turkey and pumpkin pie last Thanksgiving while watching Beyoncé perform in her "I Am ... Yours" special.
This year Houston's hometown diva will be taking over the airwaves again on Thanksgiving with ABC airing the broadcast premiere of her "I Am... World Tour" primetime special, airing in Houston at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 25.
If last year's show from the Wynn Las Vegas was big, this year's is set to be epic. The 90-minute film will feature performances of Beyoncé's biggest hits "transformed" for the stage, plus guest appearances by hubby Jay-Z and Kanye West as well as behind-the-scenes footage from her 32-country world tour.
Beyoncé produced, directed and edited the film, which will go on sale on Friday, Nov. 26, as a full-length concert film DVD.
Can Beyoncé become an American Thanksgiving entertainment tradition on par with the Dallas Cowboys, the Macy's parade and Charlie Brown? Why not — if Bing Crosby can corner Christmas, I don't see why Beyoncé, one of the most successful performers of the decade, can't take on Turkey Day.
Just add pilgrim buckles and collars to those "Single Ladies" costumes, perhaps? Whoa-oh-oh!
