Not so subliminal
Taylor Swift out mind games the master John Mayer
- "Speak Now," Swift's latest CD includes "Dear John"
- Some of the lyrics from "Dear John"
- John Mayer
Taylor Swift's third album, details of which are beginning to be released by critics, is going to be one big diary entry.
Says Swifty: "Everything that happens to me gets put into a song. For some reason, I'm really comfortable talking about my personal life in songs. There, I don't hold back: names, dates, times, expressions on people's faces, exactly where we were and how it felt, what I wish I would have said to them in the moment."
There was talk Swift penned an apology to Taylor Lautner, but the song causing scandals now is Dear John, a missive most are assuming is addressed to John Mayer, with whom the 20-year-old recorded a duet and went on a maybe-date with in Nashville some time ago.
The lyrics are as such: It was wrong/Don't you think nineteen's too young/To be played/By your dark, twisted games/When I loved you so
An older beau with a propensity for mind games? It could be Mayer. It could also be a bonus track on the Dear Johnsoundtrack. Just sayin'
