Fly me to the moon
Legendary singer chosen to headline inaugural evening of H-Town's private music club
It's going to be a special evening for a select group on Nov. 3 when venerable songman Tony Bennett sweeps into town for an intimate concert in the Hobby Center's Zilkha Hall. Not just anyone will get a chance to join the soirée that includes a pre-concert cocktail reception and an after party. But membership in Music With Friends Houston, open to all, will be the ticket.
CultureMap was the first to announce the formation of Music With Friends, a nationwide network of private music clubs organized locally by Susie and Sanford Criner. "It's all about enjoying music that you like in an intimate setting with your friends," Susie told CultureMap in February.
Bennett will headline the first of three annual Music With Friends Houston concerts. While stars of the two remaining concerts have not been confirmed, entertainers who have performed in other Music With Friends cities include Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and Diana Ross.
Membership is open to all. Details are available from Annie Eifler at 713-899-3473 or annie@musicwithfriends.com.
