Top Stories: It's a Housewives week, but the guys (Perry, White & Rahman) arealong for the ride
Once again, it was Housewives Week on CultureMap.
Three of the top five stories of the week had ties to Bravo's popular series and the possibility that a Houston version is on the horizon. Shelby Hodge's list of the Houston cast finalists was this week's most viewed story and the weekly wrap-up of Real Housewives of New Jersey featuring Bravo host Andy Cohen was No. 3. Cohen was in Houston as the celebrity grand marshall for Saturday night's Pride Parade and, by all accounts, had a great time while in the Bayou City.
Who knew Slumdog Millionaire composer A. H. Rahman is so popular? The news of his off-again, on-again tour — the result of a set that crumpled before a Detroit concert — got lots of hits, falling just outside our top five. Rahman's Houston show has been rescheduled to Sept. 17.
The news of more layoffs at the Houston Chronicle, which CultureMap was the first to report, also drew a lot of Internet buzz, with most lamenting the changes. And polls showing Bill White and Rick Perry are tied in the governor's race, means, for once in a blue moon, we may have a real race for the top post in Texas. We can't wait to keep following the lastest twists and turns.
