Just one kiss
No love match between The Bachelorette and Texas guys
It wasn't a very good night for the Texas contingent on The Bachelorette. Slow-talking San Antonio Internet account executive Hunter got sent packing after his date with Ali Fedotowsky because there was absolutely no chemistry between the two. It didn't help that he kept calling her "darlin'" and complained that wearing a kitchen apron was like wearing a dress. Dude, this woman lives in San Francisco, so she isn't easily put off by a man in a dress.
And Jonathan Novack, the former Channel 2 weatherman, almost blew his chance when he froze up during a kissing scene with Fedotowsky while filming a music video to the Barenaked Ladies' song, "You Run Away." Novack was nervous about kissing on cue in front of the other contestants, even though one told him to "think of it like doing a forecast." Novack even appeared to tear up at the snickers when he didn't go in for the kill. Finally, Fedotowsky took matters in her own hands and laid a big one on Novack.
Not wanting to kiss on The Bachelorette is like forecasting the weather without knowing anything about hurricanes, so we wonder if Novack realized what show he signed up for. But — spoiler alert! — we hear Novack will be off the show after next week, so he won't have to worry about kissing on camera for much longer.
During the same video, a shirtless Kirk had no trouble kissing Fedotowsky in front of the cameras. Their shenanigans in bed approached soft-porn status. The chemistry between the duo continued as they later sucked face in a hot tub in front of several of the other suitors, instantly propelling Kirk to front-runner status, even though there is a long way — and 12 contestants — to go.
But as Fedotowsky made out with several other suitors during the two-hour episode, often in front of other admirers, even Kirk came to his senses.
"Why are we even watching?" he asked.
My sentiments exactly.
