Always ones to hop on a trend, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have parted ways.

Heidi moved in with a roommate, and her adjustment to single life will be taped in a NEW REALITY SHOW! she mentioned to People in the same breath as her impending divorce.

UsWeekly is reporting that the breakup was fabricated, (shocker) with one of the couple's friends telling the magazine, “Heidi and Spencer are laughing over it and having a blast." Heidi’s older sister, Holly, also tweeted that Heidi and Spencer are “liars” and never had any intention of really separating.

With publicity stunts like this, Montag makes Paris Hilton look legitimate. Remember when no one could figure out why she was famous?

I'd wait and see if Speidi actually get legally separated, or if Spencer also stands to profit from his wife's new reality venture. Right now, he's telling reporters that he has to move on because Heidi moved out — while trying to drum up interest in his screenwriting.

People don't seem quite as broken up about this marriage (supposedly) ending as Al and Tipper Gore's.
