What's this crazy cougar thinking? Oprah labels Justin Bieber next Elvis &Sinatra
America's sweetheart talk show host Oprah Winfrey is on a one-way trip to Cougartown. Taking a cue from Barbara Walters, Oprah declares teen pop star Justin Bieber the hearthrob of this generation in an interview with the 16-year-old in Tuesday's episode of her show, which is dedicated to young phenoms.
"Every era has its superstar hearthrob," says Oprah as she identifies Bieber along with an "elite group of music legends" including Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder.
The 56-year-old television personality, famous for her yo-yo diets and beloved TV empress status, is taking a giant leap with this statement on baby Justin. The star, who merely a year ago was an anonymous 15-year-old with a video on YouTube, released his first full length studio album less than two months ago and has yet to exhibit the sort of musicianship or sexual appeal that those other men can claim (surely all have seen Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber).
People magazine may have named Bieber one of the "World' Most Beautiful" people in April, but he was also named in the list of "The 100 Unsexiest Men of the Year" in the Boston Phoenix, along with Ahmed Karzai, Michael Lohan and his most obvious predecessor, Nick Jonas. "There is nothing sexy about 16 year old boys," explains the newspaper, "unless you're a Catholic priest."
With a pimp named Usher and more buzz surrounding an airbrushed hair swoop than sexy style, Justin may only place a claim in the Rock & Roll Hall of Lame.
Post-appearance, Justin Tweeted, "Just got to say that Oprah is real nice down to earth person. She even came back after the show to talk with everyone. She is incredible. And she made my grandpa cry. He went all water works in the crowd. Haha."
