Not herself, not Gaga
Christina Aguilera is bringing her iconic, Bionic, dominatrix self to Houston
Christina Aguilera's recently released video for her new single "Not Myself Tonight" reveals that the song was aptly named. I've never seen this side of her, and I can't decide if I want her to put it away.
Xtina promises that her new world tour — which will launch July 15 in Connecticut and hits Houston August 12 — will maintain the vid's aesthetic, and I've gotta say that the thought makes me slightly uncomfortable.
The dominatrix-themed video was directed by Hype Williams, the same dude behind Lady Gaga and Beyoncé's wacked-out Telephone. The choice of director probably doesn't help the mounting accusations that Christina's been ripping off Gaga lately, but Aguilera sounds great, even if she is a bit latex-y for my tastes.
Tickets go on sale May 21 and those who buy tickets before June 4 get to download a digital copy of Aguilera's new album, Bionic, on June 7, a day before it drops.
Tell us: Will you go see Christina Aguilera perform at Cynthia Woods? Do you thinks she copies Lady Gaga, or is she just inspired?
