Rap fight: Jay-Z won the battle, but Ludacris gets the spoils of Houston
Mr. Christopher Brian Bridges, better known as Ludacris has landed in H-town for his performance tonight at the Arena Theatre. The Screen Actors Guild and Grammy Award winner emerged 10 years ago from the "ATL" music scene, collaborating with Timbaland and staking a claim with singles like "What's your Fantasy," "Move Bitch," and "Act a Fool."
In 2003, the artist received a Grammy for the single "Yeah!", a collaboration with Usher and Lil Jon. The next year, the musician crossed over to film with the Best Picture Academy Award-winning Crash.
These days, Ludacris is collaborating with tween sensation, Justin Bieber on the hit, "Baby." The rapper's strong, smart rhymes help balance the boy toy's squeaky sensibility. Clearly the pair prove that Crash resolved any latent racial tension in America.
Although Entertainment Weekly just announced Jay-Z's victory over Ludacris for the title of rapper with the most Top 10 singles ever, tonight's feature shows no signs of slowing down: Luda still holds the role of rapper with the most No. 1 records. Tonight, fill your flask with a splash of Conjure (Ludacris' own signature cognac), and head down the Southwest Freeway to the Arena — tickets are still on sale.
Oh, and R&B goddess Monica will be there too.
