Brad Womack and AshLee are canoodling all over Houston: Reality TV stars pick up local PDA fans
It's a pairing that could only be made in Bachelor heaven, Lone Star edition.
Season 17 contestant AshLee Frazier and two-time TV bachelor Brad Womack — from Houston and Austin, respectively — are officially a couple and, much to the delight of local fans, they're not afraid to parade their new relationship around the Bayou City.
"We've become pretty invested in these people, so it was crazy and a little awkward seeing AshLee and Brad in person."
Houston resident and admitted Bachelor enthusiast Scott Klovans couldn't be happier for the new couple, especially since the recent Texas A&M accounting grad bumped into the two Texans partying at Womack's new Midtown bar, The Dogwood.
"I was surprised how totally star struck I was when I saw them," Klovans tells CultureMap. "We heard that AshLee and Brad were dating and that Brad opened Dogwood in Houston, but couldn't believe they were standing right there."
Keep in mind, Klovans and his circle of friends are no ordinary fans — they have a Bachelorfantasy league.
"It's ridiculous. We keep statistics for all the shows, including Bachelor Pad, which is everyone's favorite," he laughs.
"We've become pretty invested in these people, so it was crazy and a little awkward seeing AshLee and Brad in person. Once we started talking to them though, they were totally cool and down to earth."
Along with his girlfriend Michelle Roche, Klovans had a chance to fill in some of the backstory about the two contestants, getting details on everything from Frazier's lucrative personal-organizing business Love It! Organized to the popular bars Womack runs with his twin brother Chad in Austin.
From there, well . . . the A&M alum says the night gets a little fuzzy. Although he does remember asking AshLee to join his Bachelor fantasy league, since she lives in Houston.
"She didn't fully commit to it, but she seemed interested in the idea of fantasy league about the The Bachelor. Guess we'll have to wait and see if we hear from her. We have our fingers crossed."
CultureMap will be sure to check in with the fantasy league when season nine of The Bachelorette premiers Monday, May 27 with Desiree Hartsock — the bridal stylist recently passed up by Season 17 bachelor Sean Lowe — starring as the newest Bachelorette.
