I met with some major resistance when I first reported on my ambivalence toward the new Apple iPad, but rumor has it around the CultureMap offices that we may soon have one of our own. I'll be putting my order in today for this carrying case.
The prospect of seeing one up close, coupled with Modern Family's episode-long plug last night has got me newly endeared to the name-plagued product. I wonder how much Apple paid for such product placement? The entire episode revolved around puttering patriarch Phil Dunphy's demanding an iPad for his birthday and his family's attempts to secure one of the coveted devices.
