Keith Urban's Surprise Rodeo Kiss
Keith Urban kisses another girl in a frenzied Houston Rodeo night, but Nicole Kidman would approve
Crowd space was at a premium for the Keith Urban show Friday night. So much so that I witnessed one woman yell at another — early on it was clear people took their fandom for the New Zealander pretty seriously. A mammoth crowd of 74,054 packed in to see him.
Dressed in worn out blue jeans and a dangerously low cut black henley T-shirt, Urban showed up to the rotating stage with all his usual flair intact including his inked out arms and muscles, which were quickly covered in sweat.
Taking extra time on his guitar solos, Urban showed all the fans in attendance that he means business on the guitar. The crowd at Reliant was no stranger toAmerican Idol judge. Nicole Kidman's husband was performing in his fifth Houston Rodeo.
Five songs into his set, he went onto the dirt and set his mic stand up to give some fans a more up close and personal concert experience.
"The first time was in 2005 and I have the buckle to prove it," Urban said as he proudly showed off his bedazzled jewels, noting this was his biggest RodeoHouston crowd yet.
Five songs into his set, he went onto the dirt and set his mic stand up to give some fans a more up close and personal concert experience. At the end of "Kiss a Girl," after he had obliged a few selfies like the previous Rodeo acts, Urban kissed a little girl donned in hot pink on the cheek, to the crowd's delight. I suppose that's the only kiss his wife would have approved of, and it made for quite the moment on the big screen.
If you've never had the pleasure of seeing Keith Urban live, his feet and dance moves kind of mimic those of Kevin Bacon in Footloose, as he flashes a bright-eyed smile the entire hour-long show. Here's hoping Urban comes back to the Rodeo for the sixth time soon.
