Beyonce follows the Super Bowl with surprise Houston reveal: Guess who has big plans?
Beyonce turned the lights out at the Super Bowl. And now she's making big Houston plans.
How do you follow up a performance on America's biggest stage? Well, if you're Beyonce, announcing a mammoth world tour that includes a high-profile visit to your hometown is just the ticket.
Beyonce will be in Houston for a Toyota Center show July 15. It's part of what her handlers have dubbed the Mrs Carter Show World Tour, a extravaganza that begins in Belgrade, Serbia on April 15 and includes more than 20 European stops and shows in more than 20 cities in North America. Houston's pop superstar is actually visiting Dallas before H-Town (what is she thinking?) — with a July 6 date at the American Airlines Arena.
Unlike at the Superdome in New Orleans, you can expect the Toyota Center to find a way to keep the lights operational.
The tour ends up at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the arena her husband Jay-Z (the Mr. Carter) christened back in September and the one where the NBA team he has an ownership share in (the Brooklyn Nets) plays its games.
This is the new mom's first multi-city, full-time tour since 2009.
Tickets to Beyonce's Toyota Center show will go on sale next Monday, Feb. 11. It's sure to be one of Houston's hottest concert tickets of the year (some ticket brokers were buzzing about the date even before the official announcement). Which came shortly after Beyonce stepped off the stage with Destiny's Child in the wake of that weird "Single Ladies" collaboration.
