Bruce hearts Dallas: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are extending their North American tour, The River Tour, and have added a performance in Dallas.

The Dallas date is April 5 at the American Airlines Center and is the only Texas stop on the tour. Tickets go on sale Saturday (January 30) at 10 am at LiveNation.com.

The River Tour is the first for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band since the 2014 High Hopes Tour. It reprises the original River Tour from 1980, which featured sets that regularly approached the four-hour range and established a reputation for the group as marathon performers. The last time Springsteen played Dallas was in April 2014 for the mammoth NCAA March Madness Music Festival.

The tour accompanies Springsteen's 2015 release, The Ties That Bind: The River Collection, a sprawling piece with 52 tracks on four CDs with unreleased material and four hours of never-before-seen video. It contains the original The River double album, the first official release of The River: Single Album, a CD of 1979/80 studio outtakes, a brand-new documentary about The River, and a coffee-table book of 200 rare or previously unseen photos and memorabilia.

The set also includes a two-DVD film of never-released, newly edited, multi-camera footage from a November 1980 show in Tempe, Arizona.

The tour begins on January 24 with a three-night stand at Madison Square Garden in New York, then tracks through the northeast with dates in Washington, D.C.; Boston; and Philadelphia. It takes a quick dip southeast to Florida and Atlanta before crossing through the country to the West Coast, ending with three nights in Los Angeles on March 17.

The April 5 Dallas date represents a few weeks off in between and is rumored to be the first of about a dozen new shows added to the tour. European dates are anticipated for early summer, with the possibility of a U.S. stadium tour later this summer.

The current lineup of the E Street Band includes Roy Bittan, Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent, Stevie Van Zandt, and Max Weinberg. They're joined by violinist Soozie Tyrell, Jake Clemons on saxophone, and Charlie Giordano on keyboards.
