Your guide to election day: Voting while navigating Houston's weather & fireeffects
It's already been an election for the record books, with some hotly contested primaries and plenty of passionate voters.
Don't forget to add your vote to the tally today. When in doubt, vote early: Between the limited voting machines due to a warehouse fire and a forecast of wet weather, the lines could get long.
In the marquee race for governor, incumbent Rick Perry faces off against former Houston mayor Bill White.
In addition to the governor's race getting all the press, every member of the House of Representatives, half of Texas' state senators and all of the Texas House seats are up for grabs. There are also judges and other officials on the ballot citywide, not to mention the controversial ballot initiative on red light cameras.
Check the poll location for your precinct and make your voice heard. The Secretary of State's office has a great website for finding your polling places and learning what's on your ballot.
Remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain.
